Who we are

Overlook Park & Marina is a family-friendly lake park and marina at 505 Marina Rd, Brenham, TX 77833. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Overlook Park & Marina. This policy covers our website, overlookparkandmarina.com. It explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Booking and payment details. When you reserve a stay, your booking and payment details are collected and processed by our booking provider, Staylist, on Staylist’s own pages. They are not collected or stored on this website.
• When you contact us. If you call or email us, we receive what you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, email address, and the details of your question or request.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site. It may collect pages viewed, clicks on key buttons and links (such as “Book your stay,” phone numbers and email links), approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We also use Google Tag Manager, which loads some of these tools.
• Advertising and remarketing. We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and Google advertising tools, including Google Ads remarketing audiences built from Google Analytics. These tools recognize your browser when you visit pages on this website, including our booking page, and when you interact with the booking system on that page. We use this to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who visited the site, on Meta, Google, and other sites and apps that show Google ads. These tools may collect pages viewed, actions taken (such as opening the booking page or clicking inside the booking system), your device and browser type, IP address, and advertising identifiers and cookies. They do not receive your payment card details, which are entered only in Staylist’s booking system.
• Embedded booking system. Our booking page displays Staylist’s booking system inside our website. Staylist operates that system and collects what you enter there. At our request, Staylist also loads our Google Tag Manager container and Meta Pixel inside the booking system, so we can measure bookings and show ads to people who visited it. Staylist may also use its own analytics and cookies. We cannot see what you type into Staylist’s forms.
• Instagram feed. The bottom of our pages shows our recent Instagram posts. Our server fetches the posts, and your browser loads the photos from Instagram’s servers, so Meta may receive your IP address and device details when the photos load.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Our analytics and advertising tools set cookies or use similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) in your browser. They remember that you visited, help us count visits, link a visit to our site with a visit to the booking system, and match you to ad audiences. See “Your choices” below for how to limit them.

How we use it

• To answer your questions and help you plan a visit.
• To manage reservations and keep the park running safely.
• To understand which pages are useful and to improve the website.
• To measure and run our advertising, including showing our ads to people who visited our website and measuring which ads lead to visits and bookings.
• To meet legal obligations and protect the park, our guests, and our staff.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information with the following. Some laws describe sharing for targeted advertising as a “sale” or “sharing”; see “Your choices” for how to opt out.

• Staylist, our booking provider, and the payment processors it uses to handle reservations and payments.
• Analytics providers, such as Google, to measure website use.
• Advertising partners, such as Meta and Google, to measure our ads and show them to people who visited our site.
• Our email provider, so we can send and receive messages.
• Law enforcement or other authorities when we are required to by law or legal process.

Staylist and these other providers have their own privacy policies, and their handling of your information is governed by those policies.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. Messages you send us are kept as long as they are useful for answering you and for our records. Information held by Staylist and other providers is kept according to their policies.

Your choices

• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some analytics may be affected.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on Google provides for that purpose.
• You can turn off personalized ads in your Google account’s ad settings and in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, and you can opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info. Browsers and extensions that send a Global Privacy Control signal can also limit tracking.
• You can ask us to correct or delete the information we hold about you, such as emails you sent us, by contacting us below. For information held by Staylist, contact Staylist.

Targeted advertising and your privacy rights

We use advertising tools that, under some state privacy laws, count as “targeted advertising,” “sharing,” or “sale” of personal information because they let advertising partners use website activity to show ads. We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. Depending on where you live (including Texas and California), you may have the right to:

• know and access the personal information we have about you;
• correct or delete it;
• opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale or sharing of your personal information;
• not be treated unfairly for using these rights.

To opt out of targeted advertising, email info@overlookparkandmarina.com with “Opt out of targeted advertising” in the subject line, or use the choices in “Your choices” above, including a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser. To exercise any other right, contact us the same way. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and you may ask an authorized agent to make a request for you. If we deny a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our message.

We do not knowingly use your information for targeted advertising if you are under 16, and we do not collect sensitive personal information through our advertising tools.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle. Because booking and payment details are handled by Staylist, they are not stored on this website. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally.
