Our Story

A lake gathering place
since 1970.

Overlook has been a lake gathering place since 1970, back when it was Lake Somerville Marina & Campground. Brothers Harley and Tyler Schild grew up boating, fishing, and wakeboarding on Lake Somerville with their dad, on weekends that started before sunrise. Taking over the park in 2026 felt like coming full circle. We value experiences over possessions and stewardship over ownership, and we plan to keep what you love while building on it.

Over the next several years we plan to keep what guests love and build on it: marina improvements, more RV space, new cabins and lodging, and better gathering spaces.
